Into The Dawn

The dawn breaks like raging waters on the ragged cliffs
Sinewy stretches of rosy hues, fringed in shimmering gold
Sweep across the purple skies, embracing azure tempests
Clouds of crimson, heaven-bound, a wonder to behold

Deep within the emerald caverns, hidden behind the dew
Slipping softly through the mist of a thistle-down morning
Wrapped in draping silks and such, enveloped yet in twilight
Where, in shades of jade and shadow, a memory gently clings

Gathering in the obscurity of a cascading curtained vine
Sail like vessels through the towering sentries of ancient wood
This memory of grace so long forgotten, waits in the dew of dawn
As stone and star and sunlight remain, so and still this memory has stood

And as the dawn breaks like rushing rapids on jagged slopes
And shimmering stretches of rosy hues, fringed in glittering gold
Sweep across chromatic expanse, gazing in remembrance
Beneath clouds of crimson, heaven-bound, a magick shall here unfold

Author notes

I was thinking about the legendary elves when I wrote this, especially woodland elves, like from Tolkein's world.

This is a mythical verse weilding colour as magic
to unfold the day. I felt everything was in its realm here...And yes, very easy to envision elves carving runes in remembrance of their time here. Blue
