birds flock to feeder,
flashes of reds and blues
brighten up the endless white space,
in an otherwise pale and sightless world
prayer finds wings,
as thoughts lift in gratitude,
blessings fly freely
giving hope to the helpless,
and colors flash in emptiness
to lighten up the heart
creator’s loving hands
sooth souls that are hungry,
as creatures of life
search in the barren landscape
for miracles that filter down
through the masterpieces of nature.
Author notes
watching all the birds at our feeder and sending silent prayers up on wings.....

I love watching the birds when it's cold outside! They are so cute, small...and FAT! I always call them 'little fatties' when I see them. I really wish that they were tame so that I could pet them. Great job and love the picture.

Wow~
Okies this had me balling like a baby
Oh My~ I first saw the picture and was like Ooooooooh look at the Gorgeous crimson bird
stood out from all the rest~ bright colored Beauty
Your words and message also energy grab and just swells the eyes
~ Love the line:
prayers finds wings- when my significant other passed I remember that same day- doves were on my window sill that were not there before
In fact I never seen a dove before at the house- and a Woodpecker was on the post pecking away - until the funeral- I so believe they are Precious Blessings~
While I am typing this- my daughter just brought up her father out of the blue
Love this verse

Beautiful thoughts, dear one! I recall scenes like that when I lived up in the forest, snow on the ground yet here came the robins and blue jays; even my friendly squirrel scampered up on the deck to see if I'd put out a bowl of peanuts for her. Of course, I had.
Vivid imagery, sense of serenity and peace is woven with golden threads throughout this gorgeous poem. I deem it worthy of GOLD!
Much love and hugs, BonQ

We have woods out back. Get lots of birds to our feeder in the winter (and wild turkey in the yard, too!). Love to watch them.
