First Kiss

He walks slowly to the door,
Excitement fades to trepidation.
He'd seen this done before,
He'd always yearned this consolation
That follows a memorable date;
A single, stolen moment of bliss...
The catalyst: a loving liplock,
The infamous, defining first kiss.

They stand in the doorway
Speaking softly of good times.
She wholeheartedly laughs
At the small actions he mimes...
A small silence falls
And she fiddles with her keys,
As she regretfully turns, she hears a whisper,
"Hold on one second, please."

She turns around slowly,
Bashful eyes meet heated gaze,
Their bodies move subconsciously
Neither fighting their internal blaze.
Unaware of the distance closing,
Eye contact remains unbroken
The two lean towards each other,
No words need now be spoken.

He feels her breath upon his lips
Hesitates, and gives her one last chance.
She answers with a small, sweet smile,
And their lips connect in a sensual, pleasing dance.
One soft, light hand
Caresses her lower back,
The other rests upon her face
And, of time, she loses track.

Lost in a moment,
Reality deemed surreal,
Two lovers claim a slice of time
Through this timeless ordeal.
Locked in this embrace,
Their passion spreads like wildfire,
Reaching every last nerve
Until hearts are warmed by this desire.

At long last, he breaks their love-seal
And steps back, visibly shaken.
He'd only imagined the reward
From these emotions could be taken!
He steadies himself,
And passionate eye meets its twin.
Each knew what was at stake,
But each heart knew they'd win...

She shyly steps into her house
And he whispers, "Goodnight."
She laughs, oh so softly,
And assures him that he's right.
With the door closed shut behind him,
He steps out into the night air
Thinking of how an incredible day
Turned into an incredible night to share...

    I remember my first proper kiss ... as several blokes had forced themselves on me but first time I wanted to kiss a guy it was so nerve racking wish it was with someone as special as this, but ideals don't always work. Nicely wrote, very romantic!
