Why did it happen?
Every night and every day?
I went to school and lied.
I said I was okay.
Daddy went away,
Leaving us alone.
Mommy met a man.
He smelled of cigarettes and cheap cologne.
He was very bad,
But mommy didnt care.
"It'll get better someday, baby."
Her unanswered swear.
I was just a child.
Big blue eyes, soft brown hair.
What he did was cruel.
So horribly unfair.
Promises mean so much
When you were so small.
You always pray for magic.
Something to forestall.
Mommy promised it would end.
But it never did.
Not for many years.
Until I was no more a kid.
I have to get this gone.
Tomorrow I am a bride.
I have to set her free.
This, the child left inside.

this is horribly sad..
i can tell you have a lot of sadness inside of you.
you've gotten to a point in your life that it takes others, like myself, years to get to.

Kind of compressed, but good. Shows a decent amount of emotion. Tells a disturbing story. All in all, pretty good.
