The bleeding heart of Rosie O’Hern,
to all her friends was cause for concern.
She caught a train out of Bird Thistle,
twas Gone! With a wave and a whistle.
Her heart was good, but she had no sense,
would fall in love on any pretense.
She loved a gambler outside the law,
who spent his money on Sweet Lady Draw.
Now she rides the tracks to the city,
hoping a man will show her some pity.
But they can see her heart on her sleeve,
making the men to hasten and leave.
Call her, if you will, the queen of the West;
didn’t hear her Momma, though she knew best

Alas, poor Rosie, she meant well, but the bad guys of the West were too much for her.

Oh this so much like a song I know...first line: "A rose is still a rose...babygirl you are a flower"...well I see this rose as a flower wilted, yet she still a flower...ups & downs have let her drown; but she still afloat even with out a canoe or boat.....I had many thoughts reading this one about women today...and of yesterday.........in the old west...an excellent write your talent is showing...

Oh Rosie, when you think of the times back then .. women had to make it or lose it . Rosie God bless the Rosies of the world. would you add another stanza and kick some backbone into her butt? I think this is you Brazos oh if I am wrong .. yet I am laughing out loud because I love your writing so much..I love these contest when friends come together old and new ones to make. If it is not you om gosh who ever do not be mad at me. I love this and to write like Brazos in my mind is something.
