What's happened to you?
We used to be so close
But then a few folks came our way
And now you’re like a ghost.
Now,
You pick out all the things that I
Never meant for you
And you pick them all apart
And you say that I am cruel
I try to reach out to you
But you’re too angry to see my hand
When I say that I am sorry
You tell me I don’t understand
But I’ve seen clearly all along,
I’ve only told you true.
I can’t help when things apply to me
But do not apply to you
I wish you weren’t so lonely;
I pray every night for you to see
That you’re not alone at all
And life is what you make it be
Your hatred is unfounded.
Your anger is misplaced.
I was always there for you,
But for me you have no grace.
Now,
You treat me like the plague;
When I come knocking, you retreat
When you speak to me it’s so very short
Always ending in my defeat
Because you know your words are daggers
They might as well draw blood;
For with every mean-spirited remark
Brings salty river floods
Sometimes in my leisure
I think fondly of you and I
And I know that what we’ve seen
Could only be understood through our eyes
Then when I can see the night is setting
And I can see that you won’t sleep
I sing a little song for you,
Though it’s because of you I weep
So if in the end you hate me more
At least I’ll still have this:
The satisfaction of knowing that
I was never gone for you to miss.

I like this mucho! Why the name, though? I kinda think this title belongs on "repitition" also, but it is fine where it is lol. ILY
