The innocent face you show the world,
I know that it's a game to you,
But if you stopped and smelled the roses
You might know what I'm going through.
You may know insecurity,
Check it! You're not the only one,
If you keep playing with your toys
You'll never know what you have done.
The game of love is quite a trick,
He isn't just another pawn,
So if you treat him as the rest,
Before you know it he'll be gone.
Today's the day we lose our strings,
We'll take a well deserved rest,
And if you choose to run away,
It won't hurt me, so be my guest.
Author notes
Regardless of if it's my place to protect him, she pissed me off and this is what I had to say about it.
Please tell me what you think

Not sure who this is about or what they did to deserve it, but I really liked this. Not 100% sure about the term 'game master' to describe him - it just makes me think of an overweight D&D player in a faded Metallica shirt eating doritos and drinking Mountain Dew, hehe.
I loved the third and fourth stanzas, particularly 'losing strings'. Not sure why. It was just a cool image.
