My haunting Mistress

Seductive temptress of my soul
Your brooding passion charging every part of me
I can't exlpain why I feel this irressitable urge
To hold you and to be able to look into your eyes

Pulled in like a moth to a flame
Wanting to feel your fire
To let it wash over me
Not caring if I get burned

You haunt my thoughts and it fills me
With longing to one day be yours

Please tell me what you think

    Wonderful

I love how most if not all your poems go back to love... because it's your hearts truest and deepest desire... It's either, falling out of love, falling in love, wanting love, wishing for it....
people have wants and needs, but usually they move from one to another... yours is very consistant... stay strong, God will show you.... be patient... because the one He has for you, will be a perfect match for you.

the thing about this is that it gets back to basic admiration.in its simplicity, it conveys a trust sense of passion.the write is not cluttered with overworded abstracts, but it just says what need to be said.

    Weak stuff

"Seductive temptress" arguably is redundant, and "soul" is a word best left out of a poem. Then there the misspellings. The moth/flame simile is tired, tired, tired. Finally, "it" in the penultimate line doesn't have a clear antecedent.

Oh, and red print against a black background is a tough read.

    Wow!

What a beautiful new poem, Robin! It's so great to see that you've finally posted something new. I've been missing your unique brand of poetry, so this was a wonderful surprise. I've said it so many times before, but I've got to say it again...no one does love poetry better than you! Beautiful work!
