Understand That...

I  can't believe we're here again.

H ateful spirals twirling around us,
A lways showing us for who we are.
T entative silence showering down,
E ntertaining us with dreams of what could be.

Y et I can't just dream, all I can think about is how it is.
O nly dreaming could possibly get me out of this but I can't.
U nified in despair, we look at each other. Mirroring our hate.

B ecause I fell for you, I threw everything away
U unbelievably, completely on a whim.
T errible thing to do, and it didn't work out. I...

I  can't believe I'm doing this to us again!

L ove never seems to work out for me.
O ther people would appreciate, but I don't even try.
V aluable love seems hard to find for me. I only see the flaws.
E verything about you could be perfect and I would hate you.

Y ou don't need to forgive me. I'll understand.
O rder me to get out, I'll understand. But please:
U nderstand that I never meant to undermine your importance.

    Well. This is nothing new. In that, there hundreds of poems written just like it. However, I DO appreciate its centiment and the effort it took to write in form. Best of luck with this.

    nice poem but it seems a little cliche, the words are profound but i would like to see shorter lines. i think that would help the most
