the kaleidoscope.

i was
painted into the mirror
with a shaking hand.

each shape became
glued together with skin,
stretching over the bones
to keep the cold out.

it seeped in anyway.

An amazing amount of depth for such a brief write. I see I'm not the only one able to capture a soul in twenty lines or less. A poem can be ten pages long and lack everything, especially the creative heart, with length compensating for talent or a mere few lines that can shatter the earth. Extremely well-penned.

Wow, that is quite flattering! Thank you. Especially coming from a poet that I gather a lot of inspiration from.

I love the image this creates. I haven't a clue who first came up with the idea of a kaleidoscope, but they are amazing and a great metaphor for life. Well-done!
