Don't Need 'Em
©copyright 2009 Bonita M Quesinberry
Who needs Internet and telephones?
Man's wicked inventions for communications
no matter where one might need to roam.
When I am speaking with You, I just don't need 'em;
for You hear me without wires at home,
whether I speak aloud or whisper in my mind.
God is ev'rywhere, never just on loan!
If you want to be heard, then know this:
only our Father gives wireless revelations.
Ah, but He might not answer your wish,
if your desires aren't to your best, just earthly whims;
then God says, "No," and gives His sweet kiss:
each time without any wires, the web or cell time.
He's here— there by that satellite dish!
If you feel invisible, unheard,
turn away from mankind's thinly wired connections:
let your voice rise on the wings of birds,
then trust that God will answer you, and all your kin.
Shout or whisper or just think the words
you might want God to hear for His wisdom to mine.
His wireless Way brings bliss, for He heard.

with Him can't be beat for swiftness & direction! We have a direct line through The Savior to the Throne. Love this take on prayer Bonnie! Love the flow, content, rhyme & wit of this. His 'wireless Way' as you say can't be bought & nothing that man invents can surpass! All the best in the Contest.

I like the universal tone of the immages used here in the words of the deep poetry..love it..and my thanks for the work sent here...

Such a delightful write, my dear Bonnie...With a humourous twinge, you are showing us that God is more real than our internet, t.v, or telephone...I love it! It is more earthy a write than most which is nice for variety...

I just adore the relationship you paint with your words of our God, one can really grasp a hold with them...good luck in the contest

I hope so...
I think the internet is a spectacular way for people to begin to see what so many of the faithful already knew. It is unbelievable that in an instant I can communicate with you yet because some believed it was possible now many of us do. All things are possible to those who believe (Mark 9:23). The more amazing men and women's inventions the even more amazing God's creations... including we humans. Amazing Grace inventions though they are... still not as amazing as His Amazing Grace.

Right you are, my beautiful Alice! Though I do understand that these are just a few of "man's wicked inventions" that, in the end God will destroy. And, despite the fact that Satan utilizing these tools for his nasty purposes far out weigh our use for God, that is exactly why I use them to spread God's Truth. Imagine my surprise, back when I had the brain aneurysm, to learn through my daughter that I had impacted people all over the world: they called her as soon as they heard! Ah, but as you say, darling, not as amazing as God's Amazing Grace.
Tons of love & hugs, SisBon

Communication with God is our life line in our minds and hearts, not some outward device. What is truly best for us is the healing of all the misconceptions in the mind - the real cause of our grief.

Oh, you are sooo right, my namesake!
And as for those misconceptions in the mind, I am reminded of the first time the Holy Spirit came to me to begin my training. The first thing He said was, "You must forget everything you have been taught by man about God and Christ." That really was perfectly logical to me, inasmuch as I had asked for God's Truth and only God's Truth when I took Jesus at His word, "If ye seek the truth, come to me. . . for ye who are anointed have no need to be taught by any man." Of course, as the teaching began, I would learn that His words were far more logical thanI ever could have imagined.
Thank you so much, dear one, for the supportive read!
Much love and hugs, BonQ

Jesus on the mainline tell him what you want, God wants us all to go back to the basics for this year and years to come. One thing though my internet is used for the poems and the websites I intercede on, so some could be of good use, but to stop and smell the roses to keep a reality check. Blessings

Oh, yes, dear one! God truly wants us to get back to the basics in more ways than just His teachings: like learning that we don't need all the 'things' we have or had, like owing no man, etc. And, like you, I use Satan's devious tools for God's work: online ministry, posting here at A/P and various other sites.

He also provides our needs. I recall, when having to sell my home, I had asked God to let it sell for enough that I would owe no man. Well, He did just that: it sold for more than even the same floor plan across the street. Then, when I had to go through hoops of fire for 2 years before getting my social security, I had asked for enough on the retro settlement to cover the attorney, DSHS, and to replace my worn out, ancient computer system. That was all; but, He had other plans. The settlement was enough for what I'd asked, but He included enough to prepay for my cremation and some work the Holy Spirit wanted me to perform!

Thank you, sweetie.
Like you, I do use these devilish tools to spread God's Word and speak of Jesus. It's just a shame that Satan's use of these tools is so much more prolific than ours for God. Indeed, it was God's plan that we met and I'm so glad we have!
