The Whether Man

You can go around the world in less than 80 days
but when Fogg arrives, the world's covered by haze.
Your "courage", "heart" and "brains" are the cause
of the cold world which you call the Blizzard of Oz.

The thunder rolls and the lightning war
strike so many hearts (that are no more).
In a world which is ruled by an iron fist,
I ask you if the unknown are ever myst.

The idea of charity won't take this place by storm;
this is where the play of the old world is performed:
"Hurry Cain, we must be abel to help New Orleans
where they don't know what an early rescue means."

I am the Whether Man and here is a horrible forecast,
based on the data that I gained from your sinful past:

The question is if your sun will ever shine
because his thoughts are not on cloud nine.
Spirits sink, thanks to an eternal depression
with outbreaks of hate, fear and agression.

You all hail the ice that runs through your veins.
Will it reach your heads and freeze your brains?
The rain of terror falls down on your heads.
No umbrella will keep you safe from the dead.

You're each other's unfair weather friends;
you're not ashamed to kill, hurt or offend.
One day, you will receive an avalanche of woe
because you aren't as pure as the driven snow.

    Great write! Sounded just like song lyrics! You have so much energy and expression in your words. This would make a good rock song.

    Just a few corrections..."Cain should be either McCain or 'Cain. Myst should be either missed or mist (if going for a wordplay) unless I missed a reference to the old video game. Also, I'm not sure whetherman is a good pun for this. No one relly seems to be throwing Climate change into controversy. Als, in the same verse as the McCain reference, abel should be able unless once again a reference flew over my head (biblical this time...wait a secod...I think I get it now...) However, on to the substance. You have a bit of a gem here. Some of the rhymes did seem a little forced, but over all they were solid. I loved your allusion to the wizard of oz, and yeah, the people that do try to explain away climate change are about as complete as the metaphores of dorathy's adventure. Over all this isn't bad at all...I commend you for using some top shef weordplay, even if it did go over my head at first. great write
