not this time--enough

ebony
please
he said

voice of sorrow
meant to draw
the chains that
bound her to
his misery

not this time
enough

ebony had pleased
him long enough
endured
the disapproval
pain and promise
spilled from liar's lips

perhaps he meant well
or truly loved too much
for self control

perhaps she was
fataly flawed
anger management
overload

body battered
heart shattered
thoughts scattered
but spirit never broken
she took one more step
and then another
until the tears
could be heard
no more

ebony
please
he said

not this time
enough

I have to say, you really did a great job here captivating your readers, me for sure, within each passing vivid line. And it's hard for some to get to the actual point of leaving sometimes I think, because they think little of themselves to think they may deserve more. I'm glad you brought this topic to light, it would do good for many to read this and know that there is hope, and some that are abused in any form can move forward, and it starts along those lines of which you've stated. Not This Time, Enough. Thanks for sharing you, shine on sweet soul! Timothy aka poeticweaver~

    I love it.
We all have to get to a point where there is just not enough in it anymore and we stand up for ourselves.

This is effective, I like the conversational tone it worked well.

Thank you for entering my contest and good luck

    Shari
