Joy

discomforts journey like leaves
racing before wind
seeking damp
on morning
drizzle

found, there is elation
in its touch-
a thrill of bliss
where life
soothes

with touch of elation
winds journey discomforts
as mornings; Life
drizzles soothingly

  • Very simple and well written. Love these parts!

    discomforts journey like leaves
    racing before wind
    seeking damp
    on morning
    drizzle

    found, there is elation
    in its touch-
    a thrill of bliss
    where life
    sooths

But I think sooths should be soothes.

  • Blissfully Serene (SP?)

I was instantly drawn to this poem because my mothers name is Joy. I love this poem, it was beautifully calming. Keep on staying gaceful.

I'm not familiar with this form (finclo) but in your presentation the weather seems rather foreboding to me. However, if it gives you joy then all the better.

    Sincerely,
    Leo Long

      Dear Leo

thanks for reading and commenting. No, the weather is not foreboding, its extremely 'dry' here and all plants are suffering in the heat. We had a light shower, and then ... my muse took me. However, after reading your comment, I could see why you take this view. My motto for the year is 'joy'!! Frans

    LOVELY POEM!!!!!!!!

Well you have captured how joy should be felt in one's life. It can be found in so many wonderful little things that go unnoticed in the hustle and bustle of living. Lovely imagery to bring joy to the reader. Hugs and smiles. Take care. Blessings to you.

    Peace and Grace and Joy,
    Sandy

      It's late afternoon here,

and nice to read your comment, and your blessing. Take care. Frans

  • Interesting...

but when I saw the cloudy sky & this unusual way of penning I became confused! You know me Frans...that's just a part of my life! I see a certain cycle of lines & words here & know that I'm left with amazement, feeling a 'lil baffled & very curious. Perhaps is just my frame of mind today! Your middle stanza is where I'm comforted. That's the key for me! I need to be centered & I feel very out of center right now having written about addiction! Is this one of your poetic inventions? FINCLO....never heard of this. Tip me off would you? I need to rest. Long day...I'm befuddled! All the best in the Contest!

      Dear Kathleen

Thank you for your comments. Yes the Finclo is my own creation with the first 2 stanzas setting the scene and the third 'coming together'. Have a look at: http://allpoetry.com/list/59653-The-Finclo . There I explain how to write one. Blessings to you. Frans

    Exquisite Serenity

Now that is joy! This glorious piece flows like a gentle breeze, a trickling creek, and cool dew on silky grass beneath bare feet . . . a cup of steaming coffee in hand as the "sunrise greets the day and kisses the moon goodnight."

Can you tell I love this poem, Frans? It is GOLD!

    Luv & hugs, BonQ

    Simply Divine!

I loved this poem: its texturedness, its lovely structure, its subtle rhyme scheme, its beautiful contentedness. Also here, in Eden, the overcast sky predicts some drizzles for today -- and the soothing of refreshed rejuvenation.

Your poetry becomes perfection, do you know, Poet?

    Love to you, Frans!

Your comment made me giggle ...

        It sounded like Biblical earthiness!
