Dogmatic in our beliefs,
The Lord lives on.
God doesn't see us AND our faults.
He prefers to see us THROUGH our faults
And love us for who we are,
But not who we seem to be.
He is our shephard,
Our light,
Our friend.
He cannot keep us off the ground,
But he can hold us up
And help us heal.
He does not turn his back on us
When we've done wrong.
He'd rather be there to tell us
How he feels about our lack of faith.
He'd reather see a true believer pray alone in darkness
Than have a congregation of saints profess their false faith
In broad daylight.
When times are troubled
And the ground cracks beneath the weight,
He is still there.
Like a servant,
Cleaning up after everyone else,
Fixing the broken,
Mending our hearts,
Finding the lost,
Leading our souls.
If we'd take the time to look around,
We'd realize just how much He's done for us,
The sacrifices He's made.
We'd see that He's still here.
Remembering His son's life,
The life we took in order to spare ourselves of our own selfish sins,
Is it too much for Him to ask
To believe in Him?
To turn to Him when we can't find the strength?
To speak to Him when we feel things just aren't right?
Is is too much to ask for our trust and friendship
So that he may one day meet us face to face?
I don't know about you,
But I can't wait to meet Him.

I ain't gonna lie. I wrote this in the middle of a sermon. Strike me down if that's bad!

Very nice. God is always there for us. Through the good, the bad, things we'v done wrong and things we have done right. The message behind this is one you should always listen to. I am most deffinetly not one of those gods guna strike you down types, your going to hell, blah blah. And you can be any religion you want i will still respect you. but i believe in god and thats all there is to it. Great write

The New Testament states that"the greatest of these ids love." too! Some beautiful phrasing in this.

Very well done. Nice way to show Gods love for us and the grace He gives. A call for us to turn to Him in times of distress is a reminder we all need. So many times we run away, Also, I have written a few in the middle of sermons!
