Medeaphor

Monstrous
Woman
Foreigner
Too clever for others' comfort
Or your own peace of mind
Unfamiliar with the ways of Greece
Stranger to these shores of
Broken vows
And broken homes
A woman's place
Is at her husband's feet
And you might have stayed there
If not for a coward with a golden fleece
Perhaps in a modern world
You'd have had recourse
Lawyers
Child support
Divorce
But in the language of the Greeks
Banishment's the word
Through violent countries
To friendless planes
What world is this to bring children up in?
What uncertain time and place?
Exile or death:
It's really all the same
So smother them with loving arms
And let their cradles be the grave
Sever all your ties to the family way
It's all a metaphor anyway

Please tell me what you think

Cultural differences across cultures and across time. How we have changed and yet the social issues do not seem to change at all. Must be the human factor LOL You did a great job here pointing this out.
