As I sit upon Mother earths shoulders
like an eagle she soars within my blood.
Guiding me to the river;
the river of life.
Manitoo crossed-cut my path healing
my broken heart, listened to many prayers.
As I sat wondering 'bout
this maverick I love.
Then walking forward to life's red road
our spirits will rejoice in flight.
On soft cloud's in heaven
love paints our story.
I recognized his spirit; the wolf so wise
an island standing alone, enchanting.
Singing songs of our passion
ancestors smile above.
Knowing
Nuk ketetookum....Aho!
I Love You

Like this a lot
but I couldn't help wondering if the maverick is a person or a calf! lol. I enjoyed your use of the native language. Kalahowya (I don't know if that's the right language.
Congrats on the HM.

Excellent!
I love the images this fine write
provokes in my mind. Mystery and
excitement are the emotions that
make life worth living. The unknown
coupled with endless possibilities.
There's so much about the native
american way of life that I admire.
My great grandmother and grandmother
were part cherokee.
I can fill the spirit of their people
in my soul sometimes. Awesome write

This is beautiful, do not let your heart be broken.
What has passed can not be undone, what is the future will come. You and the cowboy are one. That is the Indian way. You know this .Thank you for this it is beautiful to share your thoughts with me.

The spirits will speak to you wisely, even guiding you to the "maverick" you love. Awesome write, m'lady, I love the way you weave your Native tongue through the poem.
"Singing songs of our passion
ancestors smile above."
Sigh. I wish I had written that; so true, so beautiful.
I love you,
Brazos

"Then walking forward to life's red road
our spirits will rejoice in flight.
On soft cloud's in heaven
