A facade of pretense
A smile is showing
but it isn't happy inside
Every time I look into
the mirror, I see more
than what all sees
I see the hurt and
pain and secrets
kept tightly inside
If this mirror could
speak, it would laugh
and scold me for the lies
It would tell all how
I hide my fears so well
I'm only happy on the outside
Author notes
I chose the false mask that we display to others and what we see in the mirror doesn't match to what is on the inside, all too often...
