Generally very bland-
I tend to be without extra.
However today, I’ll take the upper hand
Because I’m determined to make my own stand!
‘Lil’ Ms. Goody- Two-Shoes’
You know I always sit at the front of the room-
Well, I’ve got nothing left to lose
So, through life today- I’m going to cruise!
It all started with a pair of lashes, of course fake,
That I placed upon my lids this morning.
Bluer than the icing on any cake,
They gave me my chance to make the earth quake!
I strut my stuff from hallway to hallway
Loving the looks these lashes bring me,
Little Freshies rush to stay out of the way
Then turn around to stare me down as I make my way!
A flash of color called a wink
Causes all the boys to smile,
And gets them to actually think
That into my deep, dark brown eyes, they could sink!
So go ahead and call it out-
‘Man overboard!’
Today I vibrantly shout
‘I am woman!’-and it’s beyond any doubt.
I disregard my practice of being discreet
I live out my playful role
I tease and flirt, flutter lashes so sweet-
Today, no one else can even compete!
Then finally, day is over, day is done.
I remove the lashes from my face
And reminisce on all the guilt-free fun,
Compare it to days previous, and am happy to find none…
Slipping into the warmth of my bed,
Favorite parts of the day flash
In a brilliant, perpetual thread,
But I settle on a thought that dominates my head;
Although the role was loads of fun to play,
To try and be someone new
And even to go astray,
I would still win over Fake Lashes, anytime, and any day.

This is a very unique piece, and the final message, in my opinion, was a good one. I found the rhyme a bit much in some places though. Thanks for the entry!
