there is a certain sparkle that accompanies anger,
an emotion put in the oven, temperature and humidity noted
through the thin heated glass every six minutes.
it glows between stars on the other side of the sky,
eating through the dark sheet that separates our galaxies.
sleek and smooth, jumping over fences
that have long since been our shelter from the stardust.
sheets shine with sweat and flashes
as you rob them of their warmth,
promising blankets and marshmallows,
while you created enough friction for a forest fire.
black sheep with black thoughts, tricked out of their emotions,
now sit idle, helplessly watching the snapping of scissors
and the blood of lambs laced between your fingers.
you're a confession in the center of the lump of prettier throats;
i swallowed you whole, there will be no red stains on my shirt.
the lord wrote you your bill, but it's the taxes that got you;
play me your notes now, baby.

This was great!! =D Loved the detailed imagery and metaphors throughout -- exactly what I was looking for! You also did a wonderful job of portraying the title throughout the poem -- I enjoyed reading this

"while you created enough friction for a forest fire.
black sheep with black thoughts, tricked out of their emotions,
now sit idle, helplessly watching the snapping of scissors
and the blood of lambs laced between your fingers"Definitely my favorite lines -- incredibly intense and powerful -- I loved them!
Thanks for entering the contest and best of luck!
