The mirror shows my reflection,
But cannot reveal my soul.
It reflects the mask outside,
But not the hidden holes.
It shows my tired arms,
But not how they yearn
To wrap around his waist
And hold him close again.
It shows my agile fingers,
But not how they wish
To reach for his hand
And intertwine with his.
It shows my bright eyes,
And may reveal their distress,
But never will it ever see
The tears that I've repressed.
It shows my small, lean body,
But not the heart within,
Or how it beats disjointedly,
Yearning to be with him.
Yes, the mirror shows my reflection,
But cannot reveal my soul.
The mirror shows what the world sees,
But not what I want the world to know...

Very Insightful
The contrast of visual to hidden is great. Me likies!!! M(^_^) -
Awe, this is a very unique poem. I don't think I've read on like this. Making the truth so so amazing. It's right, it only shows the outside and no whats within a person, it shows what people see asnd judge on, instead of what they really are. I wish you the best of luck in this contest.
