Evening Love.

The evening ended
With Stan Getz playing sax
On the gramophone;
Five or six cigarettes,

A few glasses of gin,
And Lenny Lowski
Getting her
All stirred up within

With his wandering hands
And baritone voice
Singing some jazzy scat,
And she purring over him

Like some hot-tiled cat,
Kissing his neck,
Sucking into him,
Wanting him

To make the first move,
(More ladylike
Her mom had said)
And walking her slowly

Toward the bed,
Undressing her
Like some sexy doll,
Letting the jazz play on

From the other room,
Maybe some Errol Garner
Or John Coltrane,
As Lenny made love

To her with hot embrace
And outside the window
In the city,
The dull falling rain.
