Pancakes

I'm making pancakes and holding
a conversation with a three year old
standing on a chair; watching my every flip.
She's excited, asking if I'm almost done,
telling me to hurry while giggling.

We are talking about bacon
and the fact that one piece just won't do it.
It takes 2  pieces at least to be able
to wipe up all the extra syrup,
swimming around her plate.

Her little hands reach for that piece.
She is careful to keep her please gramma please
face turned perfectly, or so it seems.
It really doesn't matter if this time
it is just for bacon.

Sometimes, it is just for me.

    Hoodwinked!

This is a precious glimpse of sharing with a wee one the joys of making breakfast. This brought back many memories when my own children were small and liked to 'help' make breakfast...LOL You have captured a wonderful memory, well done! Write On!

You have been Hoodwinked today by the Poetic Bandits because WE CARE!
