walk around these streets
what is it that you see?

I see who I was in my shadows
the faint reminder of what shall never escape me
forever tainted by those days of torment
forever followed by the hollow beginnings

but you managed to look past that
at least I thought you did
But tonight only reminds me once more
that certain things shall never change

it's a love so unique in taste that it cannot be compared
such perfection cannot be uttered with three simple words
the sad reality of your knowledge of it brings it to ruins
for this love is meant to be something big

as our time is wasted by petty theft
we do nothing but come closer together

why do you arms untangle from each other?

shadows shift and shadows move
but their essence never changes
they stay true to what they are
even through habitual movements

they sing to themselves for no one will listen
they dance among the stars when no one watches
as their world merges with ours
we only see their darkness
