The [Blood] White & Blue

Blue for endless oceans stretching
'cross from our very first home
Now seperated and divided
Seems here is the only place we've ever known.

White for endless snofwalls cov'ring
vast fields once causing us grief
A simulaneous reminder
Of the childhood innocence we forgot to keep.

Red for endless bloodstained shirts
that lay on greenest fields
soaking through the lively grass
And through weapons we once had strength to wield.

Mistakes handed out a'plenty
Perhaps more than our success
unseeing minds continuously building
But somehow we've found room to root and rest.

No perfection reached or found
though love this country I do
but I find there is much more red
than any amounts of white or blue

Same for our flying flag
reflecting this country, true:
for there is more, and too much red
than any amounts found of white or blue.

Author notes

This is about the making of our country, and our country in general. I'm not the biggest patriot around (I'm more enthusastic towards Greece) and generally I'm pretty critical about our governemnt. I'm recently learning more and recapping on the Revolutionary war and I've just read how so much blood spilled; and It's still spilling over today.

First stanza = seperation form England

Second = Valley Forge. (Innocence we forgot to keep = war and mistakes)

Third = Pretty self-explanitory.

Just thought I'd clear that up for those who are confused.

Getting inspired with U.S. History is one of the the last things I'd guess from myself.
