Laying here next to you
I realize the uncomfortable truth.
Surely I will die
if you were to leave me now.
This reliance on you frightens me,
what am I going to do?
As you sleep I take a breath
and make a desperate plea.
Through the darkness I whisper,
"please, don't leave me."
