I passed the cemetery and her gray black doors.
I walk along looking at all the names and the flowers laid by the graves.
They all seemed the same.
Then I came across a tall slender man placing a bouquet of roses and he laid them by a familiar name.
A name I didn't know.
I saw a tear come down his face and I asked him what was wrong.
She shook his head and gave an answer I knew all along.
She was my love.
My everything
The one that gave my life that special meaning.
When two people fall in love it's a special thing
But what do you do when you loose everything?
I then looked at him letting his words sink in.
I couldn't give him advice for the position he was in.
He then continued.
It wasn't so long ago.
When I danced with her and held her tight...
And didn't let her go.
No, I wouldn't let her go.
Just like on that night 7 years ago when we hit that telephone poll.
No, I wouldn't let her go.
She was my love.
My everything
The one that gave my life that special meaning.
When two people fall in love it's a special thing
But what do you do when you loose everything?
I looked at him and said to him as plainly as I could.
You carry on.
You do what you can.
You live your life the best you can.
And don't change that man that you are.
Because love goes far.
I then looked at him and he still seemed so alone. So I told a story of my own.
We were young.
Our love was pure.
But then one day I showed fear...
As I clenched a yellow slip and a photo of him I held dear.
He was my love.
My everything
The one that gave my life that special meaning.
When two people fall in love it's a special thing
But what do you do when you loose everything?
You carry on.
You do what you can.
You live your life the best you can.
And don't change who you are.
Because love goes far.
Because love goes far.
Oh.. Love.. goes..far
Author notes
This is a poem or song .I'm not sure which of two people who meet and talk about the ones they lost. The man lost this wife in a car crash the women lost her husband to war(That explains the yellow slip. When someone dies in the serivce they would give the wives a yellow slip to let them know their husbands had died in battle.)
This also tells about how that love goes far even after death.

This is a good poem to imagine occurring in one's own mind. I like that you told a story here, but didn't gush on too many details. My favorite section was "...by a familiar name, a name I didn't know", mainly because it illustrates the point that something insignificant to one person can mean everything to another..

did you come up with this on your own? cuz it's really good and unlike anything you have ever written

This was an interesting poem to say the least, heartbreaking and captivating. Hone your talent, and work on your rhythm a bit though. Otherwise beautiful

Thanks and I noticed the rhythm was a bit off but I didn't want to change it and take away from the story. Thanks for your input.
