Adopted Joy

Trapped in absence.
Not voluntarily!
Unable to share
my affection and care.
No baby cries,
no youthful laughter.
Just deafening silence
and sadness to bear.

~

Abandoned in a hostel,
craving for love,
two different species
in colour and size.
Purring and barking,
breaking my silence,
receiving much love
and adopted joy.

Author notes

When you are unable to become pregnant,
an animal (or even two) can give you the necessary love and joy that you need.

I wont ask any questions, but yesm this is so beautiful. Its sometimes better Anna to have animals (pets) than your own children who sometimes abandon you in your old age, or even have the time to visit you.

    This was nice to read.

    Love and light,
    Lencio

This is beautiful! It expresses the desperate sadness of infertility and a wonderful remedy!

  • Just gorgeous. I hate how so many beautiful animals are dumped and need adopting. But your piece brings joy to my heart. Adopting a pet is one of the best things we can do.
Thanks so much for your entry.

I looked for a poem from your hand, but could not find any.
