Pumping Up The Faith

Feeling down then look around,
and take your fathers hands.
Keep the faith stand your ground,
and in life you will have a plan.

Toss aside your old beliefs,
and reach for the gold.
For you are the one causing your pain,
today you must know.

Blame it not on others son,
it was your choice to make.
To reach out for love and joy,
for this make no mistake.

Pump up the faith and live today,
hold no thoughts of yesterday.
Feel the love and dry the tears away,
son its your life so what cards do you play .

Will you let hate rule your life,
where laughter is never felt ?
Will you take your own self down,
within your own self made hell?

Get off to yourself and listen my son,
those whispers you have so ignored .
and know those wishes
that passed through your mind,
could have been yours .

So pump up the faith and live today,
hold no thoughts of yesterday.
Feel the love and dry the tears away,
you cut the deck so what do you say.

Hope in the time of storms, all should stay positive even tho times are tuff. Great way to tell us to look for the upbeat people and leave the naysayers in the dark.

This is really well written, Patty! It flows well with great rhythm and rhyme; most of all, it delivers a great message: one of owning one's life and decisions and advising that he or she can turn that life around. That's one of the great things about being alive: if we make a mistake, we always can decide to change it.

I do suggest that you check the punctuation in this one: there are a number of questions that have been ended with a period instead of "?" .

    This is GOLD, dear one!

    Luv & hugs, BonnieQ
