45 Minutes In The Sun

Sun is shining,
Cats are meowing,
Sitting by the front door,
Demanding eyes,
Cooing and rolling;
"Let us out!"

Snowing is melting,
Life is restoring,
Sun is energizing.

Boots tied on,
Jeans buttoned up,
Long sleeve,
Short sleeve,
Jacket to top it.
Hair is braided.

Door unlocked,
My children crying,
They know the drill,
Life outside;
Porch only.
Sniffing and meowing,
No cars in sight.
Birds are chirping,
No bugs are crawling.
Cats are purring,
Soaking up the rays,
Eyes shut tight,
For the allowed five minutes.

Hoops need out,
Sunshine loved,
Mother Earth heart beats,
"Come out and play"
"Awaken and sing"

15 minutes clock wise,
15 minutes counter clock wise,
Short of breath,
Cold air is too sharp.
Mother starts calling,
"Take it easy,
Lay down, relax and listen."

On my back,
Eye's shut tight,
Humming of nature,
Floods my ears.
"I'm waking,
Now listen"
"Protect me while you can,
It's not too late,"
"Cherish my children,
Nurture, my beauty"

Eyes wide open,
Serene smile,
Spring is coming.
