Morthelza's Lament

Missing image
I will weep, but not despair
Because I know I'll find you there -
Caught between the hemispheres
Bound to earth for all its years.

I will weep, but not despair
Because I loved you true and fair,
And know that it was lawful to,
Use my hand to slaughter you.

I will weep. I will despair...
Knowing you will never care.
Me in body, you in air,
I will weep and I'll despair...

Author notes

Morthelza is a witch from the world Haidia. When young, she fell in love with a man named Warloth who she taught to be a Warlock. In doing so she realized how corrupt the dark arts were as it destroyed him. Morthelza tried to bring him back, but it was no use and he abandoned her. He went on to become the most powerful evil in Haidia.

Morthelza cast aside her witch craft and lived in a state of - mostly self - exile in the land of Menama for many years. Uknown to her, Warloth had been using all this time to build an army that he might rule over the whole of Haidia.

When his armies begin to march out of Brôc, the people of Menama come to her for help, knowing she is the only one who could defeat him. At first, she refuses, having promised she would never turn back to the arts. In the end, she knows she is Haidia's last hope and she agrees, eventually having to kill her lover.
