Sober

resentment hovers over me
a raincloud that never clears.
Lies are not
a crayon to draw a picture with.
You built a concrete foundation
on top of secrets.
we were two people who accidentally met
at the wrong place
at the wrong time.

...............................................................................................................

We could have been so much more
than a mess of tangled string
if you hadn't stood up
through the thick and thin.
a month
a year
a decade
its all lost.

...............................................................................................................

He makes me laugh

when I'm sad.

He dries my tears.

I don't need you anymore.

Liked the sentiments you expressed in these lines - secrets indeed. Liked the flow and thoughts you shared here. NIce to have a substitute for alcohol - especially when that one makes you happy.

This is powerful and the metaphors you have used are amazing.
    "You built a concrete foundation
on top of secrets." I especially love that line, but you did a great job on the whole poem. Nice job relating to the prompt and thanks so much for entering. Blessings, Patty
