Eve's Apple

Missing image

Such fine potential for apple pie,
apple crisp, apple of my eye ~

apple brown with age, quickly
like nurse-ready teat ~

apple shrink and crinkle
leaving faces of angst.

I pare them,
wanting a red ribbon,
whole and unbroken

as if, I could take
anything
back.

    You will always be beautiful.

  • I like all the parts, but I have to say that the whole is a bit choppy. The words are lovely, but the flow could be a bit smoother.

    Wonderful metaphors.. I loved:
    I pare them,
    wanting a red ribbon,
    whole and unbroken

    as if, I could take
    anything
    back.

    Great write!

ahhh... this is the experience in engaging imagery and the wonderful meanings, so much a metaphor for all that we do with our care and effort in life... remarkable simplicity and depth...PK

So poignant, lovely. This part really got me:

    "I pare them,
    wanting a red ribbon,
    whole and unbroken

    as if, I could take
    anything
    back."
