Life Collides

Sometimes, a person just has to believe in fate.

Yes, as creatures with free will we have the ability to make out own choices in life and yes, we are in control of our lives, or at least to an extent. But sometimes, when things just fall together, there seems to be far too many coincidences to make us believe that we are in control. We can control our reaction, but can we control the fact that had we been somewhere two minutes too early or too late, something entirely different may have happened in our lives? Every moment in our lives only comes together because there have been a series of events, sometimes completely separate from ourselves, which just collided.

You can meet people who come and go in your lives, and sometimes, you just come across people by pure chance; a simple collision of lives which seems far too perfect to be anything but preordained. And it's these "pure chance" moments which usually lead us into the best friendships and romances of our lives because we jump headlong into them without foresight and plan, because somewhere in the back of our minds we already know someone or something has planned it all out for us. Embrace these moments of "pure chance"; take to heart these people who you accidentally meet through friends of a friend of a friend, or the ones who just happened to be at the right place at the right time for them to strike up a conversation with them.

Even more so, don't blame yourself for everything, sometimes problems of coincidence cannot be avoided. Even if you had done something differently, there was too much of a chance that it'd happen anyways. Take responsibility for what you have to, but recognize sometimes the world designs it's best laid plans to lay in shambles. Let go when it is time to move on, and if by "pure chance" you find what you let go of back in your life. Maybe it's meant to be. Live the best you can, and realize that we are all dependent on one another, and we are linked, everyone to everything in an endless chain of actions and reactions.
