From a Child

A child that smiles, no hidden lies
And all the world is no disguise
For in their beauty a star does shine,
A rainbow  wondrous, a nursery rhyme.
The world is sacred to those so young
A song of love from virgin tongue
And with their laughter, there's hope sublime,
If we'd just listen, one more time.

Author notes

I really can't understand why he did not want to post this. It is so beautifully written and speaks so much of the innocent lives of children. I am so glad you took that lead and did so on his behalf, Bob. There is nothing like the wonder that shines on a childs face as he/she discovers the world around them. Wonderflu. (p.s. For some reason, I just can't seem to bring myself to like that song....all dogs and children)

I could not understand why Bob did not wish to have this poem posted. He did give me full approval to post as a collaborative. It is an absolutely lovely poem. I thank you for enjoying it, and saying so by way of comment. Much appreciated.

Thank you, my friend. There is a C & W song called " Old Dogs and Children " by Tom T Hall that is along similar lines. We adults complicate life by analysing everything far too much. Children do not, they simply enjoy what's there at the time.
