brown steer grazing free
chewing scrub on the mesa
western skies above

(then I see)

dangling tag stapled
through his soft furry right ear
his days are numbered

    interesting

It often takes us by surprise when we are suddenly given knowledge of death. We see something beautiful, free, and then realize it will be taken from this life. Beautiful poem, revealing....makes me think.

Steak tonight right, lol. If you want to think that way, we all have a tag on us, and some can see the tag moreso than others. there is no escaping the eventual.

Yes, I know, it's true we all have an expiration date, I just think it's weird to have a tag stapled to an ear, lol

wow, is that what those tags mean? I never thought about it before - it's sort of how the trees are marked here in the Forest. This is kinda sad but I appreciate its haikuness (nature and 5-7-5).
