Why are people so cruel.
I see it.
Everywhere.
The hate that fumes
in their pitch black hearts.
Watch,
they're eating away
at the bright ones
until their hearts
beat black.
Toxic black.
Burning holes in their chests
with their toxic
breath.
Toxic.
Under our noses,
without the
pulse of the media,
without the presser of reality
the hate grows
in their chests.
Not even war.
Not even violence.
Not even hate,
discrimination,
abuse.
Right here darkness lingers.
I see it here.
Hate hides cleverly,
you have to have a
strong heart
and even stronger friends
to get through
the fog
that fallows them.
Some are lost.
Some are losing.
I see them fall,
my arms
to weak
to hold them up.
Their hearts to weak
to let me.
And they're blind.
Some are blind.
Some are huddled,
hiding.
Others help,
cry,
hold,
but it's hard to tell
who's killing
and who's loving.
That's how so many go.
I can see it.
He sees it now,
yet in little parts
the toxic.
She always knew it was there,
fighting along side.
Others float
as if oblivious,
ignoring it without thought.
It's not me,
it's them.
I see it.
It's here.
Why won't anyone listen;
toxic.
Fight it with love.
Compassion.
Understanding.
Open your hearts to others
who can heal you,
even if your not wounded,
love heals all things.
I can see it.

This is a terrific poem, and sadly shows how the most sensitive people seem to be the only ones still awake and aware of toxic pollution, and not just factory fumes, but that which rises from the corrupt black hearts and reeks tremendous destruction. I still believe love is stronger, however, and shall prevail.

I agree, true love is the strongest. With this poem I hope to show others how much real love is needed, and how some are consumed by the false love that evil attacks with. I'm glad you liked it!

Beautiful piece...People need to stop hating and start loving...so true!! (mistakes: Line 7- "their~~They're" and Line 59- "their~~there")
