Rust

my valentine

belongs to secrets
of his past -- that leaves me
cold
with bleeding heart
and roses trampled
in the rough -- oh
red red
love

Thankfully, this roller coaster of emotion was a very short ride. I mean that in a good way. Best of luck in the contest.

    Sincerely,

A vivid, painful message so powerfully brought forth.

It is the way it is sometimes, and so painful to know it. I like bleeding heart beside roses, it has a double meaning there.

    WOW

Truer words were never spoken, no matter how painfull. I wish I could give you a box of heart band-aids, you deserve them and all the love in the WORLD. More people love you than I could fit on this site.
    Blessed Be,

I'm not sure how you do it, but this brief poem punches far more than its weight in terms of emotional impact. A very effective piece of poetry, Myra.

    With admiration and affection,
    Bill

Beautiful. You create such a soft sadness with your few words and the undercurrent of hope (I don't know how you do this, but it is always there) that keeps it from becoming overwhelming.

    Well done.

    Excellent

Again, a very fine write. You always express your self quite well, indeed. Thanks for sharing this one with us.

Again you prick us with the thorn that bleeds, for lost things irretrievable yet the softness of the voice is unmistakable. C
