Frosty breath of winter paints the landscape gray
Nature's riotous glory covered and sleeping unaware
Awaiting spring's first tentative wake up kisses
Limping the hard rocky path I contemplate
Why can not my heart deep freeze as well
Weary of feeling so passionately about it all
So cast I will for to apply invisible ice packs
Suspending the joys, sorrows, and the wonder
Until spring at last returns and I am brave again
