Did your glass slipper break
as you ran down the steps to the
chimes of the clock striking midnight?

Did you fairy godmother forsake you
and leave you alone to weep,
finding someone else to save and desert?
What has happened Cinderella?
Did your prince fall in love with another,
perhaps your beastly step-sister
who always seems to come out on top?
What has happened Cinderella?
Did the mice all get caught in a trap,
not longer fine white horses to pull
your majestic carriage, now a rotting pumpkin?
What has happened Cinderella?
Has your dream turned into a nightmare,
your romance into a horror story,
leaving you outside the castle to wail?
What has happened Cinderella?
This was supposed to be your fairytale.
