My heart yearns for a darkness,
Which by its very nature, is in no way tangible.
By any of the brightest lights,
It is inpenetrable.
Since my creation,
I have hungered for the deepest embrace,
The shadows can afford me.
Painless,
Warm,
So much like the womb,
And so safe.
To be rested,
Away from the lights and sounds
Of a tainted existence in which pain does not often subside.
I do not wish for death,
And I do not seek to end life.
But to sleep most of it away in darkness would bring me contentedness.
Author notes
I know you seemed to hint at disliking the darker genre, but i thank you for the inspiration all the more anyway.
