Hydrogen Hydroxide

Hydrogen hydroxide
When you're colder,
Solid, upon your liquid
Do you float
Crystalline-formed

The womb whence life came,
The fish's oxygen
Their deaths, our lives

Lao Tsu's Tao
Wet with the symbolic
It flows with the conduction
Of ecstatricity, sweet serendipity

La Agua, my female article
In the Spanish tongues of the rivers
Of man
Purifying, ever-defying
Alchemical Necessary Ingredient #1
The Earth's major composite of
The Gaian pools of tears and sweat,
Depth and whet
The labyrinthine lagoon
Of Davy's Locker
Holds a key to infinity
That Moby Dick of Loch Ness Monsters
"Yes, waiter, I'll take a glass of water."

Author notes

Ecstatricity is a portmanteau of ecstatic and electricity.

Delightful!! Great word play, my favorite? 'The womb whence life came,
    The fish's oxygen
    Their deaths, our lives'
It's sad we have to take one creature's life to keep our own going.. Excellent poem!

I didn't mean it that way, though that you mention it perhaps means I should change it so a more relevant meaning emerges. . .Or maybe it's fine the way it is nonetheless. What I love about poetry is that it really forces the reader to find or make meaning happen in the piece.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thanks.

No, it's fine the way it is, everyone finds different meanings in someone's poems and stories, that's what's so great about words, they make us use our imagination.. Don't change a thing, Hon..

Yeah. You helped me remember to put that it was a portmanteau in the author's notes. Inadvertently, thank'ee!

It's probably one of my most favorite portmanteaus I've had the pleasure of formulating.
