I've heard a million lashing words
Meant to crush spirits and stone hearts to death
I've felt the scars of many the cat
To destroy the body of the soul that won't break
But when our parched lips meet
These bleeding scars don't matter anymore
When he whispers my name
The mockery is muted
When he sweeps cold fingers
Through my frozen hair
When I caress his every texture
With my equally icy hands
When he and I are one
I can taste the dreams on my flaking lips
Inside
We were both blazing embers
In the piecing hailstorm
And we are the only ones
Still living the miracle
When they shattered our windows
With deafening bullets
I was the first to wake
When the trigger was pulled
By bulky, loveless fingers
I couldn't believe my bloodshot eyes
When he took the bullet for me
With his rippled body
I broke out into tears
When they chuckled to themselves
I ripped the smoking gun
From my enemy's hands
When I heard the piecing shot
Spew pieces of skull and brain
I knew it was over
When they left me to die
I patched his mortal wounds
Kissed his bleeding lips
For the last time
When the flaring sirens of ambulance
Pulsated over our battered paradise
We were together in heaven at last

Wow! This was shockingly beautiful, yet terrifyingly scary! The ending had such a peace in it though. I loved the way this was written, beautifully breathtaking! Thankyou for entering my contest, and Good Luck!
