I stand above the wondrous view
The sight before my eyes
Takes my breath away from me
And leaves me sighing sighs
Green fields of every hue
Some are emerald some are lime
I love them just as I love you
And that won’t change through time
Hills and mountains, colours changing
As the seasons come and go
Rivers running, ebbing flowing
Sometimes rapid, sometimes slow
The valley below a hazy green
Some sign of habitation showing
I gaze upon the beauteous scene
Hear children’s voices, breezes blowing
I love this land that is my home
My roots are in this country green
While contemplating all alone
Around a hundred shades of green
