Punxsutawney Phil is watched up North,
to predict the weather to come.
Watching a Groundhog foretell the future,
to some may seem quite dumb.
Here at home we have another ritual,
but it happens twice a year not once.
If my brother-in-law Bubba sees his shadow,
he doesn’t work for another six months.

This was a hoot to read. I was laughing and had to read it to some friends yesterday. We have a few bubbas like that in our little town. Thank you for writing about Pennsylvania's Punxsutawney Phil.

Okay. Read. Didn't quite understand the first verse, but I guess If I knew who it was and anything about groundhog day, I would be wiser and smarter. I love the last verse which didn't really need any interpretation. Good luck in the contest.

That Bubba is a sketch! I like your funny take on the theme of Groundhog's Day - very entertaining. What ya don't see when ya haven't got yer gun, as they say...
