Groundhog Day

Missing image
Punxsutawney Phil is watched up North,
to predict the weather to come.
Watching a Groundhog foretell the future,
to some may seem quite dumb.

Here at home we have another ritual,
but it happens twice a year  not once.
If my brother-in-law Bubba sees his shadow,
he doesn’t work for another six months.

    Just Silver!?!?! Just Silver!?!? lol, WOW! That last line just tied everything up and together! Sounds like Bubba would get along with some of my family members!

    Soooo Very Funny

    Okay. Read. Didn't quite understand the first verse, but I guess If I knew who it was and anything about groundhog day, I would be wiser and smarter. I love the last verse which didn't really need any interpretation. Good luck in the contest.

    Love, love this verse! Living so close to ole Punxutawney Phil, I had a wonderful laugh. Also thought your use of rhyme was well placed and not forced. HAppy New Years, a bit late, and how about our Steelers!!! Gooooo Team! Best wishes in the contest, my friend!
