Just Because~

Missing image

Just because,

My lips of ruby wine once laid playfully on yours,

and emerald eyes erased heartaches momentarily.

While my silken flesh shelters my inner sanctum,

I chose to bestow upon you, your own river of dreams,

awaiting my own to inhale, so that I may breathe.

Of-course I knew you would fall deeply for my facades,

just as jet hair spirals sensually past soft shoulders.

I can feel the touch of your eyes tracing each curve.

You're intoxicated with scents of nectar deceits,

resembling stringed puppets I often manipulate,

you ignite easily, within one glance to your gaze,

but drench whatever passion is left inside lustful flames.

For I’m way beyond reach, as I fade like a sunset,

you’re just another bracelet around my wanton wrist.

Sounds calloused, though I blossom like a rose of thorns,

syringes of poisonous pang, taint each teardrop.

You taste venom spewed into your innocent tongue,

you'll remain a victim of what you thought love was.

And live a daily dose of insignificant dreams.

Just because…

this is beautiful. very thoughtful and intriging. Its passionate and i really like. great job

  • Love how you opened and closed with the title. Very beautiful and very creative. The passionate words of love almost jump of the page while reading this, and makes one think of their own struggles. I loved it! Great write.

  • This is in intriguing and thought provoking poem; some of it I couldn’t really understand, but I’m getting old and way past feelings of passionate love. I recall that most relationships had some degree of tension, but this creature aroused high anxiety.

Good write, I love some of the lines within this poem.
    For instance:

For I’m way beyond reach, as I fade like a sunset,

My lips of ruby wine once laid playfully on yours,

While my silken flesh shelters my inner sanctum,

I chose to bestow upon you, your own river of dreams,

    Wow

A really strange but beautiful poem. I love how you used the prompt it works really well. This poem really speaks to me and laughably bought to mind a friend I once had who i often thought of as a man eater and this poem describes her to a T. I like the tone and the words used "though i blossom like a rose of thorns" is simply magnificent. Again very good write

  • This reminds me of what and how a black widow spider might speak of her folly.
Lure them to her snare and wrap them all up. Just because... she's hungry.
I echo the sentiments of all those that have read here before me. Sensational also comes to mind!
    Rap on brother...
    Play on drummer...

hmm, now what to say to something this beautiful and strong.. there was a softness about your words and yet there was a certain intensity as well.. I love the whole.. "just as jet hair spirals sensually past soft shoulders." lol.. you really did such a wonderful job with that picture.. for some reason it reminds me a lot of home.. anyway thank you very much for sharing. best of luck in the contest.

I love the use of 'just because' as your final line.

Nothing could sum it up better than the intent of that. It's important to know that it wasn't a playful mishap, or 'we just fell out of love" sort of thing, but an intentional misdirection, a cowardly veil of deceit, a rouse if you will... like any good villian in a film that reveals his /her plot in the end.

Saying 'Just because' is the ultimate slap in the face.

It means you were always meaningless.

(Sorry it took so long, I'd log in and then have to hop off or do something else... hectic week).

A truly Bravo bit of authoring

Dark.. So beautifully bitter! I loved this one Tim.. I wonder how you manage to weave such masterpieces in every genre! No wonder why you are known as the master! I liked the stanza:
"You're intoxicated with scents of nectar deceits,
resembling stringed puppets I often manipulate,
you ignite easily, within one glance to your gaze,
but drench whatever passion is left inside lustful flames."

It speaks out. Wonderfully done honey!

    Love ya forever

this is amazing! your imagery here is stunning. wow.
you brought alive every single image in my mind as i read this, and that hardly ever happens when i read a poem. i really wasn't expecting the ending, but that completely summed it up and ended it. it was a very final ending. some poems i read, the ending is just boring and plain and in finale, but this is excellent, and keeps me thinking about it. i love this poem, i love the idea of it and i love the way it is written. a truly amazing write right here.
    thanks for sharing this.

Nice write... In fact, your outlook on the take is absolutely stunning. You never cease to amaze me in some shape, form, or fashion, thats for sure! My favorite lines in this write are:
for I am way beyond reach, as I fade like a sunset,
You're just another bracelet around my wanton's wrist.
To me, these lines are what made the poem. Awesome, my friend!
