Covering the Nerves

Awake enough;
feel as if I flossed with teabag strings,
rubbed Arabica in retinas,
cut the throat with a soda can.

Slip on the Adios,
just after exploding decibel laws;
"Sedated" in the shower;
rest in peace Joey Ramone.

Carved the curbs;
nine o' clock skateboard haste.
Pastries fall to half off
in the next stale quarter hour.

With crumbly sleeving,
wipe the corners after four B12s.
Follow through with chocolate washout.
Subway breeze never fresher.

Not really a good start
for our first date in the hallows
of an authentic Biblioteca.
So ignore my shaking while you read.

  • Intriguing write ...

    although I am not sure just what I think of it at the moment. It's an odd poem. That doesn't mean bad however. It's just ... odd.

    Reminds me of something I might write myself after popping a tab of Purple Haze. (Even after 40 years, I still remember exactly how that felt.)

    Anyway, keep on keeping on.
