I should have known it was a sign;
Your constant saying, "I don't care."
Indifferent about life and death,
A weakling time would surely wear.
I could have molded you as mine
But I was dumb, I let you be
Believing YOU should live your life.
You've been polluted thanks to me.
If you'd but cared, so might have I
Beyond that which I did. I'm bare!
With due respect to what we lost,
I'll coin a phrase now, I don't care!

I suppose it would be better to go on fawning over someone who wouldn't care if you dropped dead.

It has been quite some time since I've read your work, and I can honestly say your writing has changed for the better. It was amazing when I left and this piece proves that you have only grown as a writer. This is an excellent piece with such a powerful message. Great work

Thank you so much. Sometimes I doubt if I'm getting better. It's always good to hear you're improving.

A fine poem with a clenching last line.
