I'll never again mistake such talk of angels
I'll never again doubt the meaning of the words
Meaning, yes but
Trueness, no.
Who can say what happens to us?
Who can say what lies ahead?
I could focus all my wishes
Of what I think should be
And I gaze longingly at all the pictures
Of those people I hope to see
There are some with more certainty
Who know their own truth in their hearts
How I wish I could share in it
The certainty of belief
But I am empty of all convictions
No angels fly in my heart
I understand the meaning of these
Comforting thoughts
But they hold no comfort for me
For I'm unable to believe
