Ah Charlotte, quine, thou art
Sae deep within ma heart
I cannae find the time
Tae justify ma rhyme.
Oh Robert you would be,
So deep in love with me,
If I could just go home
To where you used to roam
And paddle in the burn
To wait for thy return.
Thy words hang i' the air
Ma hert is full o' care
Thou bonnie, bonnie lass
Beware, as time doth pass.
Talk not to me of hours,
I wilt among the flowers,
Their scent hangs in the air
I would that we might share..
Aye, now thy words are clear
I maun mak ye ma dear,
Thou fair and gentle rose
Ma verse I now must close.
And now, as shadows creep
I lay me down to sleep
And as I do, I pray
That there may come a day
When, by the powers above
We two may be in love.

I don't think I could better this! Just take the gold and run.

PURE MAGIC!

You've captured the personalities of the two and maybe they could have been an item, given the right circumstances. Time was a barrier unfortunately.
Thank you for entering my contest. -
This is a wonderful piece of poetic imagination, handled with skill and flair. I love the "voice" you've given each poet. Excellent stuff!
Best of luck,
Bill
